Series: The Unsearchable Riches of Christ
Sermon # 3
Subject: THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST
Text: Colossians 2:1-15
Intro: I attend by the grace of GOD in this study this morning to show from the word of GOD that Christ’s unsearchable riches is without question, limitless and they are inexhaustible... that is they can never be drained, they can never be depleted, they can never run out, they are indeed what every believer here this morning and those that listen by radio need...
In out verses that we have read we see a number of things that we call your attention to before we speak on our main subject for this morning..
Verse 3 " His intrinsic worth" that alone makes his riches full as the text declares.
Verse 9-10 "His fulness is complete therefore making us completer:
Verse 11-12 "His work in us"
Verse 14-15 " His work for us"
I... " THE UNSEARCHABLE RICHES OF CHRIST CAN BE SAID TO BE INCOMPARABLE RICHES:
I do not believe that I have to convince anyone here this morning that the riches of this world are hardly comparable to Christ even though man may have the greatest riches of all mankind at his disposal...
1st. They are incomparable because if you had all riches and lost your soul you would in reality have nothing:
Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
2nd. They are incomparable because of the great value they render to the souls of men..
James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
II.... " THE UNSEARCHABLE RICHES OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST CAN BE SAID TO BE INEXHAUSTIBLE RICHES:
The fact that he is inexhaustible makes his riches so:
Try if you will and if you can to find a way that in all the writings of this world about him, of all that is said about him in the bible, find an end to who he is, what he has done, and what he is doing and you will fail and fail miserably because he is inexhaustible..
1. He is inexhaustible because he is GOD: John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. He is inexhaustible because he is from everlasting to everlasting: John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Turn Proverbs 8: 22-31
III.... " THE UNSEARCHABLE RICHES OF CHRIST CAN BE SAID AND WITHOUT CONTRADICTION TO BE THAT WHICH REALLY AND TRULY GIVES SATISFACTION TO THE SOUL:
John 7:37-38 In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
1st. That Christ gives real and lasting satisfaction:
John 10:8-10 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
2nd. This satisfaction is said to come to those who have been made meek:

David said:
Psalm 22:26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
3rd. They are satisfying because they are said to be that which abides in our souls.
Ecclesiastes 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth [it], that [men] should fear before him.
