Devotion By Pastor Jack Duplechain
Ro 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Upon my return today from St. Jude children’s hospital, here in Memphis, Tn. I was made once again that suffering and sickness can come to almost any one of us at any time. The halls are filled with children suffering, parent’s anxious about the outcome of their love ones. Since June of this year I have been called on to ministers to families and their children with cancer from my home state and close to my hometown. Our passage tells us that those who suffer in this present world, and of course if they are saved can look forward to that world to come where these is no sin, no sickness, no death, no pain whatsoever. First consider your own state of being, then thank the LORD if you are enjoying a measure of health. Secondly consider the health of your children, their children and then if they are healthy thank the Lord. I visited sixteen year old young teen today life seemly almost over for her, she is on life support and didn’t know I was in the room but we still talked to the Lord about her. It was then her mother looked at me and said that she also was diagnosed with terminal cancer and she had been given one year to one year and half to live. I didn’t know what to say, my heart just sank and we talked for a few minutes longer then I left. I have been ministering to three little boys also all are seriously sick with one form of cancer or another please pray for them. Consider that suffering is a part of life and life will one day end for us all. I trust when you read this little devotion that you will take time today to pray and to praise the Lord for good and bad that may come your way.
