Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

What were we created for? Good question and I believe that the above verse tells us clearly what we were created for. Two things John says in this verse. (1.) He created us for his glory. In most doctrinal statements or in most catechism it states, that the chief end of man is to glorify the Lord. Man fell, and in that fall the Lord still gets glory through our Lord Jesus Christ restoring us to favor with the Father. The reason being he is worthy. He is worthy in himself, he is worthy in his coming, he is worthy in his life it was and is impeccable, he is worthy in his death and his resurrection. He is worthy in his ascension and in his reigning in the eternal glories of his rightful place in heaven. (2.) He created us for his pleasure.  How could the Lord get pleasure out of us? Good question, it may be answerable by defining the word “pleasure” the word does not mean joy, but it means what the Lord wishes from us. His design and purpose with not only us but also all that he created. When we think of this, the Lord taking time to do with us as he pleases is astounding to say the least. When you began this day as the Lord has given it to you, think what do you want from me today Lord? Always acknowledge his plan and purpose for you. A good prayer for all of us is dear Lord in Jesus name use me in your kingdom this day, make me to know for what purpose you have given me life today, to you honor and power and glory in Jesus wonderful name Amen.
