Psalm 119:9 |

May 11th 2007 One of the hardest things in the world to do as young people; and, likewise for those who have matured in age - is to keep clean. The Bible refers to it quite often. Sin is the transgression of the Law; it is also said to be that good which we know to do and doeth it not. The Psalmist asks the question and he answers it. (1.) How do we cleanse our way? It is clear that we are all unclean at our best. Our motives are wrong, our heart is steeped in selfishness. We want it our way; and, this my friends - is a sin. The Bible says in Romans 14:23, And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because [he eateth] not of faith: for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin. So, we can see now and always, that we have a great problem with sin and sins. (2.) The answer to his question: it is clear - by taking heed to the Lord’s word. Don’t put it out of your heart. Don’t make excuse for what you and I do wrong. God’s Word is the foundation of our faith; it is the rule of our faith. The bible says plenty about its use in our daily life. The Lord Jesus said, in John 17:17, Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Here, it is clear - a process of sanctification is the work of God. David said in verse eleven of this great Psalm, Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. So, let me appeal to all who read this devotion today, to obey his word and see the change in your life. Pastor Jack Duplechain
