The Book of Isaiah
Text: Isaiah 52-1-7
Intro: The last chapter as well as this one for the most speaks of the restoration of the people of GOD some were around the 6th century before Christ. The restoration was led by Ezra and Nehemiah. Cyrus permitting them to gain letters of authority to began by building the wall.
Once again we likewise will see the promise of the LORD JESUS CHRIST and what he is going to do which was far greater than any temporary restoration of Zion. From Chapter 52:13 through chapter 53:1-12 gives in detail what would happen to the LORD JESUS CHRIST so that he could redeem us his people...
I... “ ZION IS INSTRUCTED: VS 1
She is told to awake in order to put on strength...which is a beautiful garment. The garment here is symbolic of he strength which is the LORD that which is her ruling King...
Often the people of GOD are told to put on certain clothes to show her beauty that she hath in Christ...
A. They are sometimes called the garments of salvation:
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh [himself] with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth [herself] with her jewels.
So this is the initial clothing, Zion could no more clothe herself in her own strength than we can in our own strength... The Lord does the clothing.. Let me assure you tonight that the Lord’s people wear a garment of white and we are not to defile it,
To the church at Sardis:
Revelation 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

We as a church of Jesus Christ are specially instructed to put on certain spiritual garments that we may walk worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called..
1st. We are to put on the armour of light so that we will not walk in darkness:
Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
2nd. We are to put on the new man so that we will not bring dishonor to Christ:
Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
3rd. We are to put on the whole armour of GOD so we can fight the good fight of faith:
Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
4th. We are to put on certain beatiful garment so that we can be a witness to others:
Col 3:10-14
II... “ THE PROMISE HE MAKES HER: VS 1
A number of things can be gleaned from this portion of verse one: Note some things that are clear, then we will see how that spiritual affects us today.
1st. No unclean thing:
Nahum 1:15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
This has to do with the gentile world that could not have communion with the people of GOD. They had no part nor lot in the matters of the people of GOD..

They were considered unclean, just as certain foods and meats were. This is a type of the New Zion the people of GOD, it is also a type of the New Jerusalem...For in the book of
Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
III... “ INSTRUCTIONS HE GIVES THEM: VS 2-12
1ST. That it is a call to do something: “ Shake thyself”
Zechariah 2:6‑7 Ho, ho, [come forth], and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. 7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest [with] the daughter of Babylon.
2nd. How she got into this mess : vs 3
How easy it is for the people of GOD to sell themselves into bondage and sometimes the price is very high to pay...
Acts 5:1-10
3rd. Redemption is without works and price: vs 3 “ redeemed without price”
The grace of GOD has only one price it is the blood of the LORD JESUS CHRIST:
Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

4th. Be encourage by past acts of the LORD: vs 4-5
Here the LORD speaks of his act he performed on Egypt to free his people, now he will be the one that free’s them from the Babylonians...
Two things the LORD says”
a. They oppress my people:
b. They blaspheme my holy name:
Exodus 3:7‑8 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which [are] in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; 8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
5th... The promise concerning his name: vs 6
The great privilege of knowing the name of the LORD... The Lord Jesus Christ said in the book of
Hebrews 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
The only way you can know the name of the LORD is to know the LORD JESUS CHRIST...
John 17:1-3
