The Book of Isaiah

Subject- " The Glory of His Majesty"

Text- Isaiah 2-10-22

Intro- The word in any language has to do with the exaltation and the excellence of a person are a divine...In this case it is the Lord...When we see this title taking on by men and women we can be assured they do not meet the truest essence of the meaning of this title. But when it comes to God we can safely and truly say that with the Apostle these facts...1 Timothy 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, [who is] the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

I... " THAT GOD INDEED IS WORTHY OF THIS TITLE"

When Solomon was dedicating the Temple in his prayer he declared the following......1 Chronicles 29:11 Thine, O LORD, [is] the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all [that is] in the heaven and in the earth [is thine]; thine [is] the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

a. It is seen in his "GREATNESS"

Psalm 145:3 Great [is] the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness [is] unsearchable.

b. It is seen in his... "POWER"

Psalm 62:11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power [belongeth] unto God.

c. It is seen in his "GLORY AND VICTORY"

Exodus 24:16-17 And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. 17 And the sight of the glory of the LORD [was] like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.

d. It is seen in his ownership.. FOR ALL THAT IS HEAVEN AND EARTH IS THINE"

Psalm 24:1 <<A Psalm of David.>> The earth [is] the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Moses confronting Pharaoh said...

Exodus 9:29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD; [and] the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth [is] the LORD'S.

II.. "THE MAJESTY OF GOD MANIFESTED IN THE COMMUNICATION OF HIS VOICE..

Psalm 29:4 The voice of the LORD [is] powerful; the voice of the LORD [is] full of majesty.

In the story recorded by Moses in the first book of the BIBLE it clearly observed by the true Bible student...

1. God said let there be light...and there was light..Gen 1-3

2. God said let there be a firmament and there was ..Gen 1-6-8

3. God said let the waters be gether unto one place...Gen 9-10

4. God said let the earth bring forth grass...Gen 1-11

5. God said let there be lights..Gen 1-14-19

6. God said let the waters bring forth moving creatures..Gen 1-20

7. God said let the earth bring forth living creatures..Gen 1-24-25

8. God said let us make man...Gen 1-26

His great eternal majesty voice causes all he speaks to, too come alive to produce, to carry out his eternal counsel and will..

III... " HIS MAJESTY IS DISPLAYED AS BEING CLOTHED WITH IT.."

Psalm 104:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

Both honour and majesty go hand and hand, and God is indeed full of both..clothing is what he dressed up with...and honour attends unto his holy name.

Psalm 93:1 The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, [wherewith] he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

These terms of course do not speak of garment such as we know but speak of all the spiritual things that surround the Lord..like his holiness, his power, his wrath, his love, his honour, his immutability, his longsuffering, his salvation, his throne, and many mor such like things..

IV. THESE TRUTHS ARE ALSO APPLIED TO THE SON OF GOD OUR SAVIOUR THE LORD JESUS CHRIST...

2 Peter 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

2 Peter 1:17-18 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

When Jesus came to this earth to take on the form of a man, he precisely had three offices to fill and he did that...

1st. He was to be a prophet.... Which meant he would speak to us his word..

Matthew 21:11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

2nd. He was to be a Priest...As the High priest he would our mediator

Hebrews 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

3rd. He was to be King...

a. As the only Potentate and King of kings declares he is truly MAJESTY...

1 Timothy 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, [who is] the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

b. He is declared to be king of the saints..

Revelation 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous [are] thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true [are] thy ways, thou King of saints.

c. He is the unconquerable King...

Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.

All these things declare without a doubt that Jesus Christ is indeed KING OF KINGS ...
