The Book of Isaiah
Subject: “ The Reality of God”
Text- Isaiah 48:12-22
Intro: I have chosen this subject title for a number of reason that are clear in this text. The reality of GOD in his word in his creation in his works are seen through out the bible...
Those who choose to deny the existence of GOD is a fool. David said in Psalm 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: [there is] none that doeth good.
Voltaire, a french Philosopher and writer claimed that he was an Atheist and when he lay dying on his bed, each time the door would open he would cry out the Nazarene, the Nazarene. It was said that he cry out for he could see hell. His nurse declared for all the wealth in France never would I attend the death of another infidel..
As we look in these verses we can see the very reality of GOD. Keep in mind the Bible never tries to prove that OUR GOD Exist, it just states facts.
I... “THE SELF PROCLAMATION OF GOD”...VS 12
This self proclamation by GOD himself is seen in at least two area’s...
1st. I am He
The first time that GOD does this is in his communication with Moses..Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, [even] I, [am] he, and [there is] no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither [is there any] that can deliver out of my hand.
2nd. I am the first and the last...
Just in case there is any doubt as to who this is that is speaking to Isaiah and his people, listen to the words of the LORD JESUS CHRIST...Revelation 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

That is the opening of the book, and he also closes the book with the same wonderful self proclamation of himself...Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
II... “ THE REALITY OF GOD IS SEEN IN CREATION”..VS 13
In this we see the great power of the LORD over that which he has created. Note what he says... When I call they stand up together...
Isaiah 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these [things], that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that [he is] strong in power; not one faileth.
This my friends is the reality of GOD not the reality of Science, or evolution, or some brain dead atheist, GOD is real he loves heals and creates and saves by his power and for his glory..
In the account of Genesis...
It is said that GOD said let there be light and there was light... and he said that it was good... My friends I need no explanation all I need is for GOD to give me faith to believe this...
Hebrews 11:1‑3 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
III... THE REALITY OF GOD IS ALSO SEEN IN HIS SOVEREIGN POWER OVER KINGS AND NATIONS..VS 14-15
1ST. He will do his pleasure on Babylon...
Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
2nd. His arm shall be on the Chaldeans... The arm of the LORD speaks of GOD’s power...Isaiah 30:30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of [his] anger, and [with] the flame of a devouring fire, [with] scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

IV.. “ THE REALITY OF GOD IS SEEN IN HIS REDEEMING HIS PEOPLE..VS 17
In the Bible there is two kinds of redemption. One has to do with our souls being redeemed and the other has to do with being brought out of some kind of bondage or problem we may find ourselves in...
We need not look very far to see the reality of GOD as the redeemer of his old testament people, and the redeemer of his new testament people.. The word redeem or redemption means to deliver by paying a price...
1. In their redemption that is mentioned so many times in the Bible it was the price of the blood of a lamb...
Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye [are]: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy [you], when I smite the land of Egypt.
2. In our redemption it is the blood of the LAMB...
John 1:29 “ He is the lamb of GOD that takes away our sins.
I Pet 1:19 “ He is lamb without blemish and spot..
Revelation 5:6 “He is the lamb slained
Revelation 5:8 “ He is the Lamb that is worshiped”
Revelation 5:12 “ He is the worthy Lamb”
V.. “THE REALITY OF GOD IS ALSO SEEN IN THAT HE LEADS HIS PEOPLE”..VS 17
“Leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go”
David speaks of GOD leading us...
Psalm 23:2‑3 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
The hymn writer says... some through the water, some through the flood, some through the fire but all through blood, some through great sorrow but GOD gives a song in the night seasons and all the day long...
VI.. “THE REALITY OF GOD IN JUDGEMENT AND REVIVAL ”...VS 18-22

The reality of his judgement is seen in his dealings with his people as well as the wicked..
1. What would have happened to them...vs 18-19
2. What they were to do... vs 20-21
3. The fact of the wicked... vs 22
