The Book of Isaiah
February 3, 2002
Subject: GOD’S CHOSEN
Text: Isaiah 44-1-2
Intro: I would like to use another text from the New Test as it also relates to this subject of GODS CHOSEN ONES.
Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Gods people wether they were of the Old Test or the New Test they were and are considered “ peculiar people” . The peculiar means “purchased possession” When we think of being chosen by GOD we should never think it is because we have some intrinsic worth in us:
Romans 3:9 What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
It is not because we have discovered GOD in our own merit because we have none to offer the Lord...
Romans 9:16 So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
It is such a tradmendous blessing to have the Lord love us and choose us and then call us puts in our hearts a longing for him.. In verse 3 note what the Lord says he will do...
I... “POUR WATER ON THE THIRSTY”
John 7:37 In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
Matthew 5:6 Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

II... “FLOODS UPON THE DRAY GROUND”..VS 3
Everyone of the Lords elect people before they are saved are dry, they have no life, no ability, no insight nothing they have.
A. Without strength...
Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
B. Without Christ..
Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
To be without Christ is to be without hope, without righteousness, with a covering, without a acceptance, without purity, without salvation. Your whole life is a live of dry, cracked, parched ground that needs the flood waters of GODS love and grace to be poured out upon you.
III... “ A BLESSING FOR THE FUTURE: VS 3
This is a promise directed to Israel but is a promise to the Lord elect of all generations...
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.
We can have hope that our offsprings will be one that GOD has set his love and grace upon who can tell only the Lord of host.
III... “ THE PROFOUND REACTION OF GODS PEOPLE: VS 5-8
No one can be saved and touch by the Lord without sharing that with others. It is in our nature to share with others what Christ has done to us.
1. There will be a personal claim: vs 5
One shall say “ I am the Lord’s” to give testimony to the things that the Lord hath done in us is a privilege and a blessing to others. Look down in verse 8 once again the Lord tells them and tells us that we are his witnesses...
2. There will personal evidence in us if we claim to be the Lords.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Why are we a chosen and peculiar people?
1.) Because the Lord hath given himself for us:
Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
2.) Because we have the privilege of actual knowledge of the Lord:
Jeremiah 9:23‑24 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty [man] glory in his might, let not the rich [man] glory in his riches: 24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.
John 17-1-3
IV... “ THE CHOSEN OF THE LORD KNOW THE WONDERFUL TRUTH OF THE ONENESS OF THE LORD:..VS 6-8
1. The Lords claim: “ I am the first and the Last”
Revelation 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
Which means before anything he was, and after everything has been he will be still here...

2. There is no GOD: vs 6
Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, [even] I, [am] he, and [there is] no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither [is there any] that can deliver out of my hand.
3. Duty declared: vs 7-8
Tell to the others that are coming, witness to these things.. We have a GOD duty to do this likewise as his people today in this generation. Will you tell the story of the Lord?
