Sunday Night
The Book of Isaiah
Subject- “ The Great Invitation”
Text- Isaiah 26-20-21
Intro- We have come to the final two verses of what must have seemed a long time coming, and it has been. It is has been my intentions not to leave one verse out and that is why it has taken so long...
These two verses are inserted by the Prophet to give hope and light to the children of God in a dire situation. It after this long prophecy concerning death and destruction and devastation to the enemies of the people of GOd..
This is not the first time that the Lord invites his people to come, and each time it for their benefit..this is no different it for the benefit of the hearers of the invitation...
To Noah...
Ge 7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
The Lord Jesus used this phrase also...
Mt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
When God summons we listen, when he calls we answer, and this is what the Lord is doing in this passage he is calling, summoning his people..
I.... “ WHERE HE CALLS THEM TO COME”... “ ENTER INTO THY CHAMBERS”
This would be the most inner part of a house, the private areas of a house a place which no one else is to go unless invited.. When we look at this from a spiritual stand point and we must for that is what is going on in their lives, They were invited to enter because of the pressing storms..

What are the chambers that they and we can enter into?
1. We can enter into the chamber of The power of the Lord...
Mt 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Ps 62:11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. {power: or, strength}
2. We can enter into the chamber of the wisdom of God ...
Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
3. We can entered into the chamber of prayer..
Daniel did this...
Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
a. It is in this chamber that we can have that private communion with the LORD.
B. It is in this chamber that we gain great spiritual help to deal with our problems
c. It is in this chamber that the Lord Jesus Christ has instructed us to enter.
Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
d. It is in this chamber that we can have our private worship with the Lord..
The word worship means to adore and give great homage to something or someone in this case it is the Lord Jesus Christ ...

II.. “HIDE OURSELVES FOR A LITTLE WHILE”...VS 19
Last Sunday morning I preached on no place to hide except in the Lord, we are to hide ourselves for a little while...In the context it is Gods people being hid for a time during the indignation of the Lord upon Babylon...
1st. That trouble and diversity of tribulation will come to the saints of God.
Job 14:1‑3 Man [that is] born of a woman [is] of few days, and full of trouble. 2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. 3 And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
2nd. That it will pass...
It is very difficult in times of trouble to see the end so to speak, to contemplate when will this ever end? Sometimes God will allow it for days and months, sometimes it is a little season...
But someday, somehow, somewhere, grace will be favored and victory will be felt and joy will return to the camp.
III... “ THE SURETY OF THE TEXT... VS 21
1st. We have a sure promise... “ The Lord will come out of his place”
2nd. A sure event... “Punish the inhabitants of the earth..
3rd. A clarified reason for this punishment... “their iniquities”
Be assured that...
Sin will dealt with, God is not mocked and whatsoever a man soweth that shall he reap also...payday is coming, the earth will reveal its slain, the Lord keeps a record...
