The Book of Isaiah
Lesson- Isaiah 26-1-4
Intro- We last studied the reign of the Kingdom of Christ and the gospel feast that Christ spread for his people, and how we in this church observe a gospel feast when we come together to worship the table is set by the Lord.
We also seen that in the end of this great reign and rule of Christ that the greatest is yet to come when we shall be with the Lord and the reality of this life will be done away with the swallowing up of death which causes great pain and tears on this earth This is indeed will be a great and glorious day.
This will cause any people who know the Lord to do as the text declares ...and that which we will study tonight the Lord giving grace and ability to do so.
I... “ THE SALVATION”... VS 1
1st. It causes singing...
Singing is the appropriate thing to do when God delivers..In the Bible we see this quite often.. 1 Chronicles 16:23 Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.
Singing is the thing to do when God deals bountiful with us..Psalm 13:6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
Singing is one way we give praise to the Lord...Isaiah 42:10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, [and] his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
2nd. It provides strength...
No strength outside the Lord Jesus Christ, we need his strength..Paul said when writing to
the church at Ephesus..Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
3rd. It protects us...
God has chosen to protect his people that he has saved by his grace..Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I [am] thy shield, [and] thy exceeding great reward.

II... “THE ENTRANCE...VS 2
1st. Not but one that can open...
Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
2nd. The Gate..
Just as Jesus Christ called himself a door, and was not a real door, but the passage into salvation that God had provided, gate is not a real gate but a passage into the things of the Lord...
Psalm 118:19‑20 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, [and] I will praise the LORD: 20 This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
This is the same gate that the Lord Jesus Christ was talking about in his sermon that he preached concerning entering in..Matthew 7:13‑14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
3rd. The righteous nation...
Note what it is that makes this nation righteous, it is not wealth, it is not power, it is not pride,
it is not a thousand other things, but it is truth...
Psalm 33:12 Blessed [is] the nation whose God [is] the LORD; [and] the people [whom] he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
The condition of this nation being righteous is keeping the truth, that is guarding the truth, that is what a nation is to do, that is what a church is to do, that is what I am to do, that is what families are to do..
That my friend promotes righteousness..note what else he says that nation may enter into the gates of the Lord..Some have suggested that this has some tie to the book of Revelation and it may with regard to the nations of the earth..
Revelation 21-24-27
III.. “THE PROMISE OF THIS TEXT...VS 3
Page # 3
1st. Peace in the heart...vs 3
There is nothing that can calm the soul like that of peace that only the Lord can give. It comes as Jesus said..John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Jesus said again..John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
a. This peace come with God...Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2nd. The condition of this peace... Whose mind is on the LORD...vs 3
You cannot be bombarded with earthly things all the time and your mind be fastened on the Lord as the text says..so if you are not fastened on the Lord there will be no peace of heart and mind and soul..
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
3rd. We see why his mind was stayed on the Lord... “ because he trusted”
Note what he said in verse 4... whom do we have but the Lord to trust, no one oh yes we can trust in our mates or our family but that has been proven not to be stable at times, but trusting in the Lord that is stability...peace of mind and a thousand other wonderful things that God gives...
