Sunday Morning

Subject- " Bible Salvation"

Text- Matt 1-18-25

Intro- It is so important that this church maintain the truth's that we love and preach in order to secure for the future correct preaching in this church. I seen that first hand this week in Mississippi. If a church or a preacher lets go and declares well that is not important enough to keep before our people eventually it will die out. The word "salvation means the deliverance of God's people" the example of that is twofold, the first being that of the Israelites... Exodus 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. This speaks of a physical deliverance.... the other is when God saves his people from their sins such as in our text...Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I..... "GOD IS THE ORIGINATOR OF SALVATION "I know that you know it, but it must be kept before us at all times lest we forget it, that our God is the designer and the originator of salvation...The cause....what would move God toward sinners? His grace and love for his people...Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, The Lords grace and love cannot be over stated, it is a wonderful thing that the Lord would love you and I, that he would choose to display his mercy to us. Psalm 3:8 Salvation [belongeth] unto the LORD: thy blessing [is] upon thy people. Selah. When Jonah was in the belly of the whale what did he proclaim with a humble heart...Jonah 2:9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay [that] that I have vowed. Salvation [is] of the LORD.So if you are to be saved today, it will be of the Lord and not of you, he will bring you to himself and you will come to him, that is the way he has saved all who are saved here today.

II.... "THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE PROVIDER AND THE JUSTIFICATION OF IT "In our text note with me that 1. His birth was in order to save his people...vs 21 2. His mission was to save his people from their sins...vs 21 Through out the ministry of Christ we see that he laid claim to this wonderful truth...let me if I can briefly site a few things that Christ said...

a. If you thirst out of your belly would flow wells of living water..John 7-37-38

b. The thief cometh not but for to still and kill but I have come that you may have life..John10-10

c. The good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep...John 10-11

d. I am the way truth and the life...Jn 14-6

e. I give them eternal life..John 10-28-30

f. I am the resurrection and the life...John 11-25-26

Over and over in the Bible we see that Christ is the provider of this great salvation that we speak of and he will continue to do his work till he comes again. Romans 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, [are] all things: to whom [be] glory for ever. Amen. Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

III.... "THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE REGENERATION OF IT...

The Lord Jesus spoke to Nicodemus the ruler of the Jews and confirmed that the Holy Spirit would be the one that would birth one into the family of God.

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (KJV)

1. The sovereignty of the wind.... "where it listeth" No amount of unbelief concerning the sovereignty of God will change the truth of it, no amount of not understanding it will change it, no amount of resisting it will dethrone it...God the Holy Spirit is sovereign.

2. The directive work of it.. "cannot tell whence it comes"

3. The comparativeness of it... so is everyone that is born of it...

If you are lost today there is no doubt in my mind you must be born again of the Spirit before you can hear the what I am saying. The Bible declares the natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God for they are foolishness unto him neither can he know them for they are spiritually discerned.

IV.... " THE GOSPEL IS THE REVELATION OF OUR SALVATION...

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1st. It reveals our helplessness...Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

2nd. It reveals what we have in Christ...1 Corinthians 1:30-31 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

V.... "REPENTANCE AND FAITH ARE THE PROOF'S OF SALVATION...

Acts 11:17-18 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as [he did] unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? 18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Do you this morning have a desire to repent and trust Christ then do it, because he hath wrought a good work in your heart...come thirsty sinner, come hungry sinner, that is what Jesus said. The great prophet Isaiah said...

Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

VI... "THE CHURCH IS THE PROCLAIMER OF IT"
